Sami H. Rashid is a partner in the firm’s New York office and a Co-Chair of the firm’s Antitrust & Competition practice.  Sami has extensive experience on both sides of the “v.”, representing both corporate plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust and other complex commercial litigation, including class actions.  Sami has significant experience leading the defense of corporations accused of price-fixing and other anticompetitive acts, and has helped corporate defendants avoid antitrust liability altogether.  At the same time, Sami has helped plaintiffs recover hundreds of millions of dollars in antitrust lawsuits.

Among other representations, Sami is currently serving as lead counsel for JBS in the defense of the Pork and Beef antitrust MDLs pending in the District of Minnesota.  He is also leading the firm’s efforts on behalf of 35 major corporations in individual lawsuits and serving as Court-appointed MDL liaison counsel against the four major Class I U.S. railroads alleging that these railroads conspired in violation of the antitrust laws to impose coordinated fuel surcharges on customers in order to raise rail rates.

Sami has been named by Legal 500 USA as a Recommended Lawyer in the Antitrust Litigation in both the Plaintiff and Defense categories.  He has also been named one of  LawDragon’s 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers for the past three years.
